Basic experiments of turbulent heating are ca?ried out on a non-isothermal,inhomogeneous and collisionless plasma in a ux?iform magnetic field, 7X highfrectuencv drift wave (HFDW) with ktt'::::knI0 ;nnd wrn>a>>fi is exci'ted bvthe parallel electrona current to the direction of the>maguaetic field. FIOIII detailedmeasuremeztts of the ion energy distribution, it is found that ions are heatedisotropically and nonlocally. The ion heating is always accompanied with thelarge amplitude HFDW turbulence. The ion healing rate can be well explainedby the semi-phenomenological quasi-linear stochastic heating theory.
