• Previous investigators have studied the unsteady hydrodynamic and nuagneto-hydrodynamic flow of viscous fluid between plates, cylinder etc. Generally theseproblems are solved assuming pressure gradient, external forces etc., c>f deter-ministic nature.' " Recently attempts are being made to solve mechanical andhydrodynamic problems under stochastic body and surface forces." Here we shallstudy a similar flow problem between two plates when one of the plate's is keptfixed and the other is subjected to pulses of random strength applied at randominstants of time parallel to the other j>late. We can casily extend this solution tosimilar flow problems of elastic viscous fluid.
