• Absorption and reflection spectra due to di?rect interband transitiozxs aremeasured in TIBr in magnetic fields up to 15 tesla using a highly sensitive detectiontechnique. Both the upper and lower branches apj:?earing in the resonant polaroncoupling are calculated by a Brillouin-Wigner perturbation method. Using thisresult, the pinning observed in the interband transition is discussed.
