Some characteristics of gamma production have been studied in nuclearemulsions subjected to a magnetic field of strength 180 KG during exposure toa 7[ beam of momentum 50 GeV/c. The gammas are selected from a very narrowforward cone (It< 10') in the laborator,v svstem. 'the enersv of the xamma ravsare measured. bv usins magnetic bendinu rrorer't.v of tracks and also bv theusual coordinate methods. The averaue ener:.v c;trried off bv uammas and theaveraue values of the lonxitudinal and transverse components and their momentshave been estimated. The gamma momenturh spa<:trum has also been studied inthe nn and xN CM systems. The experimental rccsults are fairly well explainedin terms of isobar productions as well as diffraction dissociation processes.
