Determination of the Nuclear Matrix Elements for the Beta-Decay of ^<149>Pm

The results of the 73-7 directional correlation measurement of the first-forbidden/7-transition of "'Pm showed a slight energy dependence in the reduced p-coefficient ratio, 7?(E,)/R(E.), impling a deviation from the<:-approximation. Theanalysis is based on the theoretical expressions given by Morita and Morita andperformed by the minimization of z' for the directional correlation coefficientratio, A.(E,)/A.(E.). Two sets of the nuclear matrix parameters and correspondingvalues of the )'-coefficient, Az, and E2 mixing of the 286 keV transition werefound: set I, x= -0.119f0.140, u= -1.545.E0.160, y'= -15.464.1.57, Az,=0.09-50.12, 0.2%<[2<3.13; set II, ,v=0.795f0.136, u= -1.36380.126,y'==23.41A.1.42, A7,7= -0.61.1.0.11, I9.4%<[2<37.83. Set I is tentativelypreferred. The deviation from the 4-approximation is interpreted in terms of theeffect of cancellation among the parameters.
