Cross-field electrozx heat diffusion due to thermally excited high frequencyelectrostatic waves propagating almost perpendicular to the magraetic field isstudied using a 2-1 /2-dimtaensional sitnulation code. It is shown that the electronheat diffusion coefficient D. is an order of magraitude greater than the electronparticle diffusion coefficient D., which is essentially collisional. The characteristicfeature of wave transport' is observed, namely an increase of D. with increasingvalues of the characteristic temperature scale' length L.. The heat diffusion coeffi-cients D's and 04 for the parallel and perpendicular temperatures (D.: 04!. -f- D,l.)show quite different znagnetic field scalings since D% is due to ion modes whileD4 arises from electron modes. This is also confirmed by treating the tons as animmobile background,
