The resistivity of CoS. having the pyrite structure was measured between 4.2 Kand 300 K under presstu'e up to 18 kbar and tmder magnetic field up to 45 kOe.The hump anomaly just below the Curie temperature (7'.) was found to becomesharper with decreasing T. by pressure and to become sluggish with increasingT. by field. The magnetization (M ) dependence of both the hump anomaly belowT. and a positive magnetoresistance above T. was empirically analyzed, whichresulted in M' dependent effective mass. The spontaneous and induced volume-strictions were also measured near T. up to 45 k0e, the latter of which wasfound to vary as M' for small M. These anomalies can be qualitatively understoodtlu'ough the variations of M and T. in a unified way including the effect ofimpurity-doping.
