In a magnetic field along the c axis, ErCr0. undergoes the field-induced spinreorientation of a first-order nature with a displacement of a phase domain wall.To investigate the nature of the wall, the ac susceptibility has been measuredfor both the in-phase and the 90' phase-shifted components as a function of theapplied field.A phenomenological approach is given to the problem of a distribution ofrelaxation times. The dispersions of the movement of the wall are well describedby the Debye formula with relaxation times of 1.3 ms and 1.9 ms at 1.8 K and4.2 K, respectively. At the early stage of the reorientation, the relaxation timeincreases by the factor of three.It is shown that the phase-domain wall has no inertia and the motion of which isinsensitive to a local inhomogeneity.
