The equation of state of concentrated monodisperse polystyrene latex has beenstudied by sedimentation equilibrium xnethod. Two curves are obtained, one ofthem is supposed to correspond to slightly modified laard sphere system byrepulsive potential, w'hile the other by weak attractive potential. First ordertransition from fluid to crystalline state has djstjnctly been observed, w'hjch is,in essence, the so-called Kirkwood-Alder transition.
