Tlte steady viscous incouvapressible flujd flow past an at'bitt'ctt)z syscxn"nctricc>'lindrjcal obstacle bejnx in the ntiddle of two rarallel walls is treated, and amethod to find its nunaerical solution is given. By an application of the theory ofconforrtaal x'nnapping, the problem is reduced to a boundary value problem ofpartial differential equations on a rectangular dontain. Then the differenceanalo?ue of the rroblenn on the rectannular do?atain can be approxjxtaately solvedon a disital conaputer. Sonae results of ntunterical calculations are reported for thecases where the obstacle is a circular cylinder and the distance between two wantsis variotts, the Reynolds numvtber being ] and 5.
