The Debye equation for dielectric dispersion in polar liquids has been suitably modified in order to provide a basis for the empirical Cole-Cole relation describing the dependence of complex dielectric constant on angular frequency. An equation connecting the permittivity with the loss factor, similar to that obtained by using Cole-Cole relation, has been derived and the results of the calculation have been discussed.
