Temperature dependence of the spontaneous polarization, P_s, of a few polycrystalline samples of antimony sulfo-iodide between -178 and 20℃ is reported. An anomaly is observed in the behavior of the spontaneous polarization with respect to temperature for the samples between -178 and -10℃. In this region P_s increases with increasing temperature and then falls rapidly obeying the law: P_s^2∝(T-T_0). The coercive field, however, decreases with increasing temperature. The Curie point and the paraelectric temperature are found to be 22 and 29℃ respectively. The discrepancy in the values obtained for the crystals grown with and without an electric field is discussed.
