Valence Electronic Structure of Thallium-Compound High-Temperature Superconductors

We used photoemission spectroscopy with synchrotron radiation to investigate theelectronic structure of eight different thallium cuprates : pure Tl...Ba.Cu0, Ce-dopedTl...Ba. .,Ce.Cu0, (,X'=0.l,0.15,0.2) and Tl.Ba.CeCu.O, and Zr-doped TlzBa. .Zr.CuO, (.X'=0.O05, 0.05). The material are high-temperature superconductors, ex-cept one of the TJ...Ba.Cu0, samples. The study included an investigation of thevalence-electron density of states, and a detailed analysis of the Fermi edge at roomtemperature. No departures from the Fermi-liquid picture were observed.
