Stoner model is extended by taking account of the volume dependence of the exchange parameter and the band width. On the basis of this model, the spontaneous volume magnetostriction and the pressure dependence of the magnetization and of the Curie temperature are formulated. The magnetic contribution to thermal expansion is obtained as the temperature derivative of the spontaneous volume magnetostriction. In the numerical calculations, the use is made of the step-type density-of-states curve, which is resonable and the simplest one for fcc Fe-Ni alloys. Calculated results of the magnetovolume effects are plotted as function of the temperature or the composition. Those are qualitatively similar to experimental results in fcc Fe-Ni alloy system.
