The molar sound velocity, R, in molten metals and molten electrolytes has been computed. It is observed that R increases with increase of temperature. The value of R calcultated using Rao's equation does not agree with the value of R estimated from solution. An examination of these results, points to the conclusion that R does not have so such significance in molten metals and electrolytes as in organic solutions.
