Thermal conductivity values of D_2-Xe, D_2-Ne-Kr, D_2-Ne-Ar and D_2-Ar-Kr-Xe systems, and of the related five pure gases, are reported at several compositions in the temperature range 40° to 90℃. The rigorous theory is only moderately successful in interpreting the results of the binary system when used in conjunction with Lennard-Jones (12-6) potential. However, the approximate and recently suggested semi-theoretical methods correlate the data of binary, ternary and quaternary mixtures quite well. Certain simpler methods are also employed to compute thermal conductivity and these calculated values are compared with the directly observed ones. The conclusions so drawn are of considerable value in the prediction of multicomponent thermal conductivity of mixtures involving polyatomic gases.
