The absolute frequency of slow μ-mesons stopped in the photographic emulsions at a depth of 23 m.w.e. underground was measured. The result is 0.22±0.03 particles cm^<-3> day^<-1>, which is greater than the value published by George and Evans by a factor of about 2.5.
