Synthetic crystals of CaF_2 were electrolytically colored at voltages up to 5 kv and at temperatures from room temperature to 345℃. Dielectric breakdowon figures and dislocation lines were visualized by colloidal Ca metal which preferentially precipitated during the electrolysis. The preferred orientations were distinguished on<11^^-0> and <112^^-> in the figures and in etch pit conigurations. The glide in CaF_2 crystal structure was concluded to be in {110} with Burgers vector a/2[110] as had been expected. Four absorption bands were observed at 576, 396, 332 and 223 mμ with the absence of 375 mμ band which has been believed to be F band. In addition, the colored crystals exhibited red and blue luminescences by 580 and 400 mμ excitations respectively. The absorption centers in the electrolytically colored CaF_2 crystal are suggested to be connected closely with impurity.
