The amplification factor c_i of small disturbances in a free boundary layer flow of a viscous, incompressible fluid Is calculated for large values of the wave-number α. It is found that there exist two asymptotic branches: [numerical formula] both of which represent the rapidly damping disturbances. This result confirms the existence of the inviscid damping which was pointed out in the previous paper.
