Ths motion of a power-law fluid past a suddenly accelerated plane wall is studied. The result of the calculation shows that while in the case of Newtonian fluids and pseudoplastic power-tow fluids, the disturbance travels instantaneously to infinity in the case of dilatant power law fluids the disturbance front travels with a finite velocity.
