It has long been said that the point of observation, "Metsuke" of a referee is very important in Kendo match, But no practical and scientific study has been done. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to investigate the relative effectiveness of the points of observation developed through their experience in Kendo by means of the eye-mark-recorder which was introduced recently. Based upon our recent study, the following conclusions were indicated: 1) The high ranking Kendoists showed a tendency to watch a crossing point of both swords "Shinais". 2) The first and second ranking Kendoists were inclined to watch the movement of the Shinai and the body of only one side of the players. 3) A beginner vaguely watched the match and did not show the any clear-cut observation.
