Studies on the productivity of a natural population of L. puziloi inexpecta were made based on both laboratory and field studies. Total consumption of this population amounted to 26% of available food. The mortality factors in eggs and early instars were predation and physical accidents. In the 3rd and 4th instars they were predation and starvation during searching for food. The mortality rate was high in the 3rd and 4th instars. But in the 5th instar the mortality rate was low, which seemed to be due to the active movement of larvae and the absence of effective predators. High mortality in the 3rd and 4th instars and low mortality in the 5th instar seemed to greatly influence the bioeconomy of this population in which food was a major limiting factor.
