Throughout the investigation in the winter of 1973-74,the author found that Scytonema ocellatum f. minor was most dominant among the ten species of blue green algae growing on bryophytes on stone walls in a park. These algae on bryophytes were judged to prefer mosses, especially in sunny places, to hepatics. This suggests that light is the main factor affecting the growth of the algae. Few except Macvicaria ulophylla were found on hepatics. This may be due to their habitats, shapes and position of leaves.
