Four Momentum Transfer in Jet Showers and Multi-fireball Models

Two methods of evaluating the four momentum transfers in high energy jet showers are compared with each other. Some physical considerations are carried out based on the experimental information analysed by the two methods. It is confirmed that multi-fireballs are produced and the number of them increases with the incident energy rather than with the multiplicity of secondary particles. Some theoretical models are examined concerning the four momentum transfers. It is shown that the mass of the linked boson is larger than the pion mass and the mass of a fireball is larger than twice the nucleon mass in the multilinked model which generalizes the multi-peripheral model. Some difficulties appear in the model in which the virtual particles are regarded as Pomeranchuk particles. The 2πNS model in which the four momentum transfer is proportional to the incident energy is also tested and found not to be inconsistent with the experiment.
