• The significance of the determination of nucleotide sequence in nucleic acids is discussed and the methods for the determination devised so far are briefly presented. Hydrazinolysis of nucleic acids studied by S.Takemura and suggested by him to be applicable to the study on nucleotide distribution in DNA and enzymatic method for the determination of nucleotide distribution in RNA suggested by the author and his coworkers are described.
