A set of coupled transport equations taking account of the phonon drag effect in the presence of a strong magnetic field is derived by using the Kubo formula and the thermal Green function technique. The formulation allows us to discuss the effect of softening of phonons due to the singularity of the electron polarization functions in a strong magnetic field, since the phonon frequency renormalized by the electron-phonon interaction appears in the final result. In addition to the coupling between electrons and phonons the model considered includes scatterings of electrons due to random impurity potentials.
