• Theories of convection are reviewed in regard mostly to the applicability to the stellar convection zone. Various attempts to study the stellar convection without the use of the convectional mixing-length theory are critically reviewed. A method of constructing stellar convection zones with the help of the turbulent diffusivities is suggested.
