Influence of fertilizers on the soil reaction and the seasonal change of soil acidity were investigated on fifteen different kinds of soil, and found; (1)The soil acidity varies with the season in both the dry-farm and paddy-field. The replaceable and hydrolytic acidity increased in the summer and decreased in the winter and at the beginning of spring. The quantity of replaceable iron and alminium varies with the acidity. (2)In case of the titration acidity, it is increased markedly by ammonium chloride and ammonium sulfate while potassium chloride seems to effect very little and rather alleviate the acidity. (3)The quantity of replaceable iron and alminium is increased markedly by the application of potassium sulfate but decreased slightly by ammonium chloride and ammonium sulfate.
