• Comparison of ammonification and nitrification on the nitrogen of rape cake in soils containing various composta was made in the laboratory. After 49 days the rate of mineralization of the nitrogen in rape cake added by the calcium cyanamide compost was superior to those of the ammonium sulfate compost and the usual compost. But when the quantity of rape cake increased, the difference between them was slight.
