By blending with suitable basic mixtures the physical and electro-optical properties of fluorinated liquid crystals with laterally substituted halogen have been measured, along with the frequency and temperature dependence on threshold voltage. These liquid crystals are useful to reduce threshold voltage (Vth) and to increase the optical anisotropy (Δn).
