• Two types of ASM (Axially Symmetric aligned Micro-cell) modes, namely the p-type of ASM and the n-type of ASM have been developed. This study makes a distinction between the two types of ASM from the point of view of the LC molecular alignment and the alignment control factor. Moreover, in the case of the n-type ASM, the response time and stability of ASM alignment can be improved by polymer stabilization with the former nnproving from 80ms to 30ms.
