Within the framework of chiral dynamics, S-wave kaon-nucleon scattering lengths are calculated by taking into account the effect of symmetry breaking of chiral SU(3)○!×SU(3). The symmetry breaking term is assumed to transform like (3, 3^*) + (3^*, 3) under SU(3)○!×SU(3). The parameters are determined from the associated SU(3)-breaking mass term for the baryon octet.
