Linked Cluster Expansion for a System with s-d Interaction

The linked cluster expansion is studied for a system with s-d interaction. It is shown that the usual expansion in terms of linked diagrams for the case of the electron-electron or electron-phonon interaction should be modified because of the dynamical nature of the s-d interaction. Some diagrams connected to many impurities yield divergent results at absolute zero, and a summation over the most divergent diagrams leads to a singularity of the thermodynamic potential which corresponds to the occurrence of impurity ferromagnetism.
