A transport theory with a time-dependent reduced mass is applied to analyzing deep inelastic collisions for the first time. We calculate trajectories for various impact parameters and the double differential cross section for various characteristic times of a single nucleon transfer process in the reaction ^<40>Ar+^<232>Th at E_<1ab>=388 MeV. Our calculations show that some of the fusion orbiting trajectories turn into the far-side collision trajectories by the effect of a mass transfer, while the far-side trajectories are scarcely changed tp near-side ones. This results in the increase of the cross section in the deep inelastic region. But the increase is still too small to reproduce the experimental cross section.
