Phase Coherency of Intermittent Turbulence Field

The present paper theoretically investigates the relationship between phase coherency (non-randomness of phase) and the intermittent turbulence field (non-Gaussian distribution). It shows that if the phases are independent random variables uniformly distributed over [0, 2π), non-Gaussian distributions are highly improbable, and thus intermittency implies phase coherency.
