A mixed two-component model is proposed for charged-particle multiplicity distributions from high energy pp and pp^^- collisions in which pionization in the central region is assumed to follow a negative binomial distribution. The fit is at least as good as fitting by a purely negative binomial distribution and yet offers a two-component mechanism. Extrapolation is made for cms enegy of 10 TeV.
