• Gluon-exchange contributions to nonleptonic hyperon decays are investigated in a non-relativistic quark-model with gaussian wavefunctions. Using the Fermi-Breit type potential with a spatially dependent spin-spin interaction, we find that these contributions are significant, and together with W-exchange contributions, they nicely fit the experimental data for p^waves.
