Tunnelling phenomena in the Yang-Mills theory is discussed in a formal scheme without approximations. The concept of the winding number is generalized to non-vacuum states. Tunnellings are divided into real and virtual ones on the basis of a Schrodinger equation with tunnelling interactions. The latter tunnellings are shown to cause deviation from the usual semi-classical picture.
