The lower bound on the slope parameter is derived on the basis of the analyticity and polynomial upper boundedness of the scattering amplitude and the unitarity of the S matrix. The lower bound behaves as B>Cs^<-6>(log s)^<-6> for at least one sequence of s→∞. Also it is pointed out that the lower bound on the total cross section can be derived based on these three assumptions.
