• The assumption is made that the r+P→r+P scattering amplitude can be analytically continued to the pole arising from exchange of a π^0 between P and r . Experiment limits the possible size of the residue at the pole, thus providing a lower limit τgsim 6×10^<-19> sec. on the π^0 lifetime.
