The early work of Tomonaga on the interacting many fermions in one dimension is briefly examined in relation to the theories of Gell-Mann and Brueckner and others. It is shown that the Tomonaga theory has a close relationship to these other theories. Also the momentum distribution of an interacting system is explicitly calculated by a perturbative method. The result is consistent with the more general conclusions of Migdal and Luttinger.
