Effects of long-range harmonic interaction on the localized mode, resonance mode and the long-time statistical behavior of a monatomic linear chain which contains an isotopic impurity are investigated. It is shown that the condition for the appearance of the localized mode is not essentially affected by the long-range character of interaction, but the resonance mode and the long-time statistical behavior show some properties different from those obtained using a nearest-neighbor-interaction model.
