In potential theory a general derivation of the Glauber approximation from the multiple scattering expansion is given by making the high-energy small-angle approximation in Green's function. We treat the problem in coordinate representation. This treatment makes the derivation easier than that of Harrington does. We find that each sub-reaction matrix which consists of a different number of connected parts of the total reaction matrix is reduced to the corresponding Glauber term at high energies.
