With the aim to investigate the core excited states in nuclei from ^<20>Ne to ^<16>O^*, α-cluster model is presented which can be applied to non α-nuclei. Both alpha-clustering and overall antisymmetrization are found to be important to reproduce the weak α-hole repulsion, which is responsible to weak coupling features and other trends of the core excited states observed in these nuclei. The nucleus ^<19>F(^<19>Ne) is treated especially in detail and it is shown that the observed weak coupling behavior is understood consistently within this model.
