The validity of describing the α-nucleus scattering in terms of trajectories of complex angular momentum poles for the scattering matrix is investigated through analyses of the differential cross sections in ^<12>C(α, α)^<12>C and ^<16>O(α, α)^<16>O. The trajectories and the complex angular momentum representations of the partial wave amplitude are set up for the rotational bands with definite parities. The adequacy of regarding a trajectory as the reflection of a rotational intrinsic-state is deduced and a resonance width is ascribed to the mixings of nonresonant angular momenta.
