A simple two-channel diffraction model for high-energy scattering of hadrons is given. In this model an inelastic channel representing the whole effects of inelastic processes is introduced as well as the elastic channel. We treat the hadrons as spinless particles. It is shown that if the vector- and scalar-type exchanges with strong t′-dependent amplitudes (∝(Λ^2/(Λ^2-t′))^n,n=4, Λ^2sime0.3~0.4(GeV)^2), are assumed for the inelastic channel, the present model gives results consistent with experiment for the energy dependence of the total cross sections and the forward slopes of the elastic differential cross sections.
