Reexamination of the DWBA Method in the Deuteron Stripping Reaction

In the framework of the distorted wave Born approximation (DWBA), effects of the term (V_<pA>-U_<pB>) which is neglected in the usual DWBA calculations are investigated by taking a simple case of (d, p) reaction with a closed shell target nucleus and also by assuming that the above term is replaced by -U_<pn>, where U_<pn> is the potential affecting the outgoing proton from the captured neutron. Detailed numerical investigations will be performed for various residual states which involve C^<13>(1p), C^<13>(2s), O^<17>(1d), Ca^<41>(1f), Ca^<41>(2p), Zr^<91>(3s) and Zr^<91>(2d).
