• The two-term Veneziano amplitude for pion-pion scattering is investigated to determine its effect on the Yellin-Shapiro inequality for the intercept of the rho-meson trajectory. Then, following the proposal of Igi and Storrow, the model is combined with unitarity and a sum rule of Arbab and Slansky is made to yield the residue parameters which are found to be in reasonable agreement with previous determinations.
