The relativistic collisionless Boltzmann equation for a classical scalar fluid [K. Tam, Can. J. Phys. 46 (1968), 2226] is derived from conservation of the number of particles in the reduced six-dimensional phase space. It is then written in a manifestly covariant form. By taking invariant moments of the Boltzmann equation, we obtain the exact equations of classical relativistic scalar hydrodynamics.
