• The self-consistent method of Umezawa is applied to a model with mass and coupling constant renormalizations. The equa1-time commutation relation(E. T. C. R) for Heisenberg fields is derived and not assumed. Light is shed on the interrelationship between the microscopic causality condition and the existence of a bound state of an earlier paper.
